"You Make the Card" was an event held by par Wizards of the Coast from 1999 ("Create a Creature") to 2013, where the audience was given the opportunity to design a card through a process of submissions and votes.
Paradox Haze was submitted during the 2003 "You Make a Card" event that resulted in Crucible of Worlds.

Spiritmonger was created during the 1999 "Create a Creature" event. Players were asked to design the weirdest powerful creature ever. Eleven cards were selected among 12,000 submissions. Spiritmonger finally won and was printed in the Apocalypse set.
